Yes, shocking isn't it. I know I was shocked when I discovered that there are 5 major holidays in Singapore, and National Day is NOT one of them. New Year, Chinese New Year, Hari Raya Puasa, Deepavali and Christmas are the 5 major holidays, but National Day isn't one of them. The day when we celebrate our nation's birth is not major?
I think most Singaporeans, like me, just assumed National Day is a major holiday. People, we are all wrong! With Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong due to deliver the annual National Day Message, maybe he can change National Day to a major holiday. The nation deserve it.
