I never understood why people go all out to get tickets to the National Day Parade. Really, I have been to 3; once when I was in secondary school and twice when I was in NS. You must be on standby for hours on days on end, merely waiting for the day to be over.
And here there are people who plan everything just to get the tickets. Taking part in a quiz on Channel NewsAsia's Singapore Tonight, the winners stand by the television and the computer just to wait for the quiz.
Why? I never had any wish to attend the Parade, hell I didn't want to take part in the one I took part in! Why would anyone want to spend the whole day waiting in the sun for a bloody parade? I can only think of one reason. National Pride.
Wish I had some.
