Singapore papers are filled with Pedra Branca. The island is 40km from Singapore and both Singapore and Malaysia claim the island.
Most Singaporeans I know have the same reaction I did; Where the hell is Pedra Branca? The island is 40km from Singapore and...we can claim an island 40km away? I know it's in a strategic position but it is 40km away! Only a lawyer can figure this one out. The International Court of Justice will determine which country has the sovereign right to the island. Hopefully after this, we will never hear of the island again.
Let's not relations between Malaysia and Singapore be damaged by an island no Singaporeans has ever heard of.
