Everyone heard of fact is stranger than fiction. Sometimes fact is funnier than fiction as well.
Do you know that some states in America, it’s a crime to sell sex toys? Yes, it is. I laugh my guts out when I read that the U.S federal appeals court has just overturned a statute outlawing sex toy sales in Texas recently.
The land of 'Sex and the City' and same sex marriage has a law that bans sex toys? Even in Singapore we don’t have that. So much for America being a liberal country.

It was an old, unenforced law. When some prudish, "uprighteous" prosecutor actually tried to enforce it, the courts struck it down. The US is liberal because laws can actually get struck down for being unconstitutional. When's the last time that happened in Singapore?
Actually US is not a homogeneous country. It is made up of 50 states some of which are still very conservative. What you see in the popular media typically comes from the 2 coast.
Do a wiki search on the term "Bible Belt" and you'll see what I mean.
