Floods In China

People in Singapore had been complaining about the flash floods recently but as they say; everything is relative. China is currently having their worst flooding in 12 years and the pictures put all the flooding in Singapore to shame.

Now, these are floods! Damage has been estimated at US$21 billion and over 700 people are reported to have died. And to think it could have been worse is not for the Three Gorges Dam!

Singapore is Singapore.

China is China.

How big is China and how hard is it to manage.

And how big is singapore.

Something awry here if ST and PAP has to use other countries to compare and compare...

Might as well also compare Ministers with & without portfolio and their buddy buddy civil servants vis-a-vis other countries ministers too.

How effective are other countries ministers vis-a-vis singapore ministers...and how productive and price competitive are they all.

What to do...now MM LKY has to come out again and defend guys who are suppose to be old enough to think and do as well as the authority to step forward and answer but LKY supersede these "ministers"...pray tell then what is the point of having ministers having LKY explaining their "mistakes" away...

Haiz.

Actually, LKY didn't really defend his ministers. He clearly state that the Singapore government's measures on the floods were not sufficient. He is quoted as saying, "How can you say that the response is sufficient?"
Not exactly a ringing endorsement.
